I just got hurt at work…
what do I do?
Immediately notify your employer that you have been hurt at work and state how you were hurt and what body parts are hurt. It is best to verbally tell your employer or supervisor and put it in writing:
1. Ask your employer to fill out a report.
2. Ask your employer to refer you to a doctor.
Your employer’s Workers’ Compensation Insurance Company (Carrier), normally has a list of
doctors the injured worker should see.
3. Go to the doctor as soon as possible because the longer you wait the greater the chance your case will be denied.
We recommend you contact a Workers’ Compensation attorney as soon as you see the doctor. Our firm is happy to talk to you.
